Cloud Service Operations Engineer ( Windchill Support)

Job Summary

The Associate Engineer – Windchill Cloud is responsible for supporting the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and upgrade of PTC Windchill applications hosted in cloud environments. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the role focuses on delivering reliable cloud services, resolving technical issues, and ensuring compliance with PTC Cloud standards, security practices, and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Deployment

• Assist in deploying Windchill applications, build packages, CCDs, CPS, Maintenance Releases (MRs), temporary patches and Rehost.
• Validate deployments and resolve basic deployment issues.
  
  

Configuration & Maintenance

• Configure Windchill and supporting components according to PTC Cloud standards.
• Perform routine system administration tasks, including log cleanup, cache management, index rebuilding, health checks, and service validation.
  
  

Upgrades & Support

• Assist in executing Windchill version upgrades, CPS, and MR updates.
• Perform post-upgrade validation and basic troubleshooting.
• Investigate application, publishing, and deployment issues, escalating complex problems as required.
  
  

Customer & Operational Support

• Support customer change requests, scheduled maintenance, and production activities.
• Maintain technical documentation, deployment records, and knowledge articles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  
  

Required Skills

• Basic knowledge of PTC Windchill PLM and cloud concepts.
• Familiarity with Linux, Windows Server, Apache, Tomcat, Oracle Database, and SQL.
• Basic scripting knowledge (Shell/PowerShell).
• Understanding of deployment, troubleshooting, and system administration.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and Windchill administration is an added advantage.
