The SAP Global Systems team within IS&T runs the Operations and Financial transactional platform that powers all of Apple functions like Sales, Manufacturing, Distribution and Financials.
Description
As a Cloud Platform Engineer at Apple, you will be a key contributor to the design, development, and operation of our next-generation cloud platform. You will work alongside a team of talented engineers to build a highly scalable, reliable, and secure platform offerings that empower Apple's product teams to deliver world-class experiences. You will be responsible for driving innovation, adopting new technologies, and ensuring the platform meets the evolving needs of Apple's business.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and implement robust cloud native solutions
- Have hands-on understanding of containerization and orchestration concepts for designing and building scalable and resilient modern event and micro-services based systems
- Have good understanding security concepts that are necessary for modern DevSecOps practices
- Understand and build features for a seamless & stable Internal Developer Portal that empowers self-service experiences for builder community with clear, concise documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement secure and robust application architectures for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Understands and uses monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to continuously assess and improve system reliability, and performance
- Have passion to drive automation to streamline manual processes and enhance productivity across the organization.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in DevOps and cloud computing
- Mentor/Train junior team member capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of proven experience as a Cloud/DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of working with public cloud providers such as AWS or GCP
- Understanding of networking concepts on Cloud, like VPCs/Subnets, Firewalls and LoadBalancers.
- Experience in CI/CD and configuration Management systems.
- Knowledge of working with OS environments and good programming skills in Python, Go or Java.
- Hands on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes or equivalent
- Analytical & problem solving skills, ability to communicate ideas clearly
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a strong focus on teamwork.
- Experience with emerging technologies such as Generative AI and Machine Learning in a cloud platform context.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other relevant major.
- Certifications like AWS Solutions Architect , AWS DevOps Professional, GCP DevOps Engineer is a plus.
