Cloud Platform Operations Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture and Engineering:

• Design, build, and deploy solutions on Microsoft Azure, following industry best practices and enterprise standards.
• Develop standardized architectural blueprints and reusable design patterns for cloud deployments.
• Create detailed architecture diagrams and documentation for specific projects.
• Conduct periodic reviews of cloud architectures to ensure alignment with corporate and security standards.
• Define evaluation criteria and processes for cloud vendor selection.

Operations and Optimization:

• Maintain and support automation and productivity platforms based on Microsoft SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.
• Monitor and optimize the performance, capacity, and cost efficiency of cloud services using Azure Cost Management and Billing tools.
• Implement and manage change processes to minimize service disruption and ensure operational stability.
• Continuously monitor cloud environments for performance issues, security risks, and incidents.
• Drive continuous improvement through performance tuning, automation, and process optimization.

Security, Compliance, and Recovery:

• Implement and manage secure access controls, including MFA, RBAC, and policy enforcement.
• Contribute to disaster recovery and cyber recovery strategies using Azure Site Recovery and backup policies.
• Ensure compliance with corporate security and architecture standards, collaborating closely with enterprise and solution architects.
• Conduct regular security assessments and apply patches and updates as needed.

Automation and Development:

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep.
• Leverage scripting and programming languages (PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python, C#, .NET, JavaScript) to automate workflows and integrate APIs.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, GitHub, or Jenkins.

Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:

• Support platform users and stakeholders by providing technical expertise and best practice guidance.
• Conduct training and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance team capabilities in cloud operations.
• Coordinate with third-party providers for incident escalation and resolution.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for 24x7 emergency support.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud operations, engineering, or architecture (preferably in a manufacturing environment).
• Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure design, deployment, and operations.
• Strong proficiency in scripting and programming for automation (PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python).
• Hands-on experience with IaC tools (Terraform, ARM, Bicep).
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with Azure security architecture and Azure Site Recovery.
• Azure certification preferred – Azure Solutions Architect Associate or Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Associate.

Other Requirements:

• Fluent in written and spoken English.
