About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team. With 6-12 years of relevant industry experience, including enterprise-level exposure and preferably experience in the insurance sector, this role is crucial in driving the digital transformation and cloud strategy of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess advanced certifications and extensive experience with the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. Your expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex cloud solutions will be instrumental in optimizing our cloud infrastructure and ensuring its resilience, security, and efficiency. The Senior Cloud Platform Engineer will play a pivotal role in analyzing and interpreting complex business requirements, deploying new solutions, and supporting the existing cloud infrastructure. This position demands an individual with a robust background in information technology, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with different teams. You will be at the forefront of managing and improving our cloud services to meet evolving business needs.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret complex business requirements: Design resilient and secure solutions to meet these requirements.
• Deploy and configure new solutions: Use DevOps methodologies and automation to meet business needs.
• Troubleshoot, support, and maintain the platform: Ensure stability and uptime, identify root causes, and respond to incidents and service requests within defined SLAs.
• Follow the defined process for raising changes: Attend weekly Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings.
• Manage and update automated deployment tools: Maintain infrastructure-as-code terraform scripts.
• Support Azure cloud infrastructure: Assist with security, developer needs, and cloud application owner support through knowledge transfer and troubleshooting.
• Manage Azure networking: Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot Azure networking solutions, including:
• Azure firewall: Configure and manage firewalls to protect the cloud environment.
• VPN gateway and VPN tunnels: Establish and maintain secure connections for remote access and site-to-site communication.
• Routing (UDRs): Define and manage custom routes to control traffic flow in the network.
• Private Endpoints and Service Endpoints: Implement and manage endpoints to ensure secure and private connections to Azure services.
• Design and build complex solutions in Microsoft Azure.
• Deploy a variety of resources in Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, and serverless platforms such as:
• Azure Database Technologies (e.g., SQL, Cosmos)
• Azure AD and AADDS
• API Manager
• Serverless technologies (e.g., Apps, functions, logic apps)
• Azure containerisation (e.g., AKS, ACA)
• Monitor cloud services using tools such as Azure Monitor.

Qualifications

• Certifications: AZ-104, AZ-305, and AZ-204 certifications are essential.
• Degree: Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field.
• Experience: 6-12 years of relevant industry experience with enterprise-level exposure. Experience in the insurance industry managing complex environments is a plus.
• Cloud Orchestration: Hands-on experience using cloud orchestration tools such as Terraform.
• Version Control Systems: Knowledge and experience with version control systems.
• Azure Data Factory: Knowledge or experience with Azure Data Factory.

• Advanced degree in a related field.
• Experience in the insurance industry.
• Leadership and team management experience.
