Job Description – Cloud Operations Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Operations Engineer to manage and support complex IT Healthcare applications and cloud-based infrastructure in an international environment. The role requires strong technical expertise across AWS/Azure Cloud, Windows/Linux, Kubernetes, monitoring, automation, ITIL operations, and information security.

The successful candidate will work closely with global stakeholders and international partners to ensure the availability, reliability, performance, security, and continuous improvement of business-critical IT applications and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and support complex IT applications across production and non-production environments.
  • Provide operational support for AWS and Azure cloud environments, including infrastructure and cloud-native services.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Windows and Linux operating systems and infrastructure components.
  • Work hands-on with AWS services, including:
    • Amazon EC2, RDS , Dynamo DB, Lambda , S3 , IAM , VPC etc
  • Manage and support Kubernetes/containerized environments.
    • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes ECS .
  • Monitor application and infrastructure health using tools such as Dynatrace , Grafana etc
  • Analyze monitoring alerts, identify root causes, and drive incident resolution and preventive actions.
  • Perform ITIL-based operational activities including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, and Service Management.
  • Develop and maintain operating handbooks, SOPs, knowledge articles, and operational documentation.
  • Independently identify operational issues, risks, and improvement opportunities and drive them to resolution.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, development, and project teams across different locations.
  • Support project implementation, transition, and operational readiness activities.
  • Contribute to cloud migration, application modernization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational IT Information Security requirements and applicable security standards.
  • Follow and support compliance with ISO 27001 and ISO 27017 requirements.
  • Develop automation and operational tooling using scripting and Infrastructure-as-Code technologies.
  • Work with international partners and stakeholders to coordinate technical activities and resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Continuously expand application and technology knowledge across multiple technical domains.
  • Experience preparing and maintaining Operating Handbooks, SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge documentation.
Required Technical Skills

Cloud & Infrastructure

  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, application operations, or a related technical role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS Cloud.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure concepts including compute, storage, networking, security, and virtualization.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux administration.
  • Experience working with virtualized and cloud environments.

Automation & Scripting

Practical Scripting/automation Experience With One Or More Of:

  • PowerShell, Python, AWS Lambda, Terraform. IaC,

Qualifications

  • University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant IT experience.
  • Relevant cloud, ITIL, Kubernetes, or security certifications would be an advantage.

Work Experience

  • Operate and support complex IT applications across production and non-production environments.
