About The Role
The Azure Cloud Engineer at Pellera Technologies plays a pivotal role in designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing cloud solutions within the Microsoft Azure platform. This position is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of client environments in a managed services setting. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams—including architecture, security, and application development—to deliver high-quality cloud services aligned with client business objectives. The Azure Cloud Engineer will also be instrumental in maintaining operational excellence through proactive monitoring, incident management, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting diverse cloud infrastructures, and contributing to the digital transformation journeys of our clients.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in computer science, Information Technology, or related fields, complemented by extensive hands-on experience in cloud environments. A minimum of five years of overall IT experience with at least three years focused specifically on Microsoft Azure is required. Certifications such as AZ-104 (Azure Administrator Associate) are highly preferred, with additional certifications like AZ-500 (Azure Security Engineer) and AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect Expert) considered advantageous. A solid understanding of ITIL principles, along with excellent communication skills in English, is essential. The candidate should demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong organizational skills, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage service requests, incidents, and change management activities in accordance with established SLAs and operational procedures.
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support for Azure-based environments, ensuring prompt resolution of issues and maintaining high customer satisfaction levels.
- Participate actively in incident response, escalation handling, and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of issues.
- Maintain clear and proactive communication with internal teams and clients regarding service status, risks, and ongoing activities.
- Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure, including IaaS and PaaS components, following industry best practices and security standards.
- Implement and manage identity, security, and governance solutions such as Azure AD, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and policies.
- Optimize cloud environments for performance, cost-efficiency, scalability, and reliability through continuous analysis and tuning.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts using tools like ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform for consistent deployment and management.
- Support onboarding processes for new environments and customers, ensuring smooth transition and integration into managed services.
- Collaborate with architecture, security, and application teams to develop integrated solutions that meet client requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures to ensure operational consistency and knowledge sharing.
- Continuously evaluate new Azure features and recommend enhancements to improve current environments and services.
- Participate in on-call rotations and support activities to ensure 24/7 service availability.
- Leverage experience working within managed services or MSP environments, particularly in multi-tenant and shared service models.
- Apply knowledge of cost management and FinOps principles to optimize cloud expenditure.
