Cloud Engineer

• Work collaboratively with the Client IaaS Operations and Engineering Team to understand the platform, manage and maintain the platform, and support Private Cloud Customers.
• Understand Requirements WRT Security, Scalability Availability and Performance of the Private Cloud Infrastructure.
• Monitor Cloud Infrastructure Performance and perform resolution of technical problems.
• Participate in FTSS (Follow the Sun Support). Required to be on call during weekends and public holidays for operational issues or project implementation.
• Automate, Implement, administer and maintain our Cloud Infrastructure, including provisioning, backups/restores, upgrades and monitoring.
• Liaise with Vendors, internal business units and internal customers for problem resolution and best practices.
• Ensure security of the production infrastructure systems and tools. Implement security controls on the infrastructure components.

Profile Requirements:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in supporting private cloud infrastructure based on VMware platform.
• Strong understanding of Infrastructure platform Automation Technology products like VMware vRealize Suite and VMware Cloud Foundation.
• Experience on Linux/Windows system, with configuration and troubleshooting.
• Good knowledge of DevOps technologies, cloud-based provisioning, monitoring and troubleshooting. (preferably, VROPS, VRLI, Grafana, Splunk, Influx, Jenkins, SNOW, Git, Ansible, Hashicorp Vault, Terraform)
• Ability to come up with Bash or PowerShell scripts to automate repeatable process.
• Experience in using Tools like Ansible, Hashicorp Vault will be an added advantage.
• Understanding of Infrastructure as a Code.
• Good understanding of Network fundamentals.
• Basic understanding of Cloud Security.
