About Vericence

Vericence is a digital engineering and technology consulting firm helping enterprises build AI-driven platforms, modernize legacy systems, and scale innovation through cloud, data, and intelligent engineering. We partner with global organizations to deliver high-impact technology solutions and build world-class engineering teams.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer with hands-on Cloudability (Apptio) experience to drive cloud financial management and cost optimization for a marquee enterprise client. The role focuses on FinOps practices - cost visibility, allocation, forecasting, and optimization across multi-cloud environments at enterprise scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage the Cloudability/Apptio platform for cloud cost management and FinOps operations
  • Onboard cloud accounts (AWS / Azure / OCI / GCP) into Cloudability and validate billing data ingestion
  • Build and maintain cost allocation models - tagging strategies, business mappings, views, and showback/chargeback reporting
  • Create dashboards and reports for engineering, finance, and leadership stakeholders
  • Identify optimization opportunities - rightsizing, reserved instances/savings plans, idle resource cleanup - and track realized savings
  • Set up budgets, anomaly detection, and cost alerting workflows
  • Drive tagging governance and compliance across cloud environments
  • Automate reporting and data extraction using Cloudability APIs
  • Collaborate with engineering, finance, and platform teams to embed FinOps practices

Required Skills

  • Hands-on experience with Cloudability/Apptio - administration, business mappings, views, reporting, and rightsizing recommendations
  • Strong understanding of cloud billing constructs (AWS CUR, Azure cost exports, commitment-based discounts, amortization)
  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS / Azure / OCI / GCP)
  • Working knowledge of FinOps principles - cost allocation, showback/chargeback, unit economics
  • Scripting skills (Python / Bash) for automation and API-driven reporting
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with finance and engineering stakeholders
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner certification is a plus
