Role Overview
Xeople is a growing HR tech company with a global engineering team spanning India and Australia. We are on an ambitious programme to containerise our cloud-hosted applications on AWS, build automation into every layer of the engineering function, and strengthen the security and observability of our platform without disruption to production.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role. You will manage a team of three DevOps engineers in India while personally owning the most complex technical workstreams. You set the direction, you build the culture, and you lead by doing. You will work closely with Australia-based stakeholders and international clients, so excellent English communication and cross-cultural collaboration experience are essential.
Onboarding Requirement Australia Travel
The first 4 weeks after joining will require travel to Australia to work alongside the leadership team. Candidates must hold a valid passport and be willing to travel.

Key Responsibilities
- Own the containerisation programme lead the end-to-end migration of cloud-hosted .NET applications into Kubernetes on AWS EKS. The mandate is zero or minimal disruption to production. You design the approach, manage the execution, and personally lead the most complex workstreams.
- Drive automation across the engineering function identify every manual operational task and build a pipeline, script, or workflow to eliminate it. You set the standard and coach your team to adopt the same mindset.
- Lead and develop a team of three DevOps engineers your engineers are capable but need technical direction and a learning roadmap, particularly in automation, Kubernetes, and cloud-native practices. You mentor by doing alongside them.
- Manage and secure our RDS environments own SQL Server and PostgreSQL on AWS RDS, including security hardening, audit logging, compliance controls, performance tuning, backup strategy, and high availability.
- Manage Cloudflare for traffic security configure and maintain Cloudflare WAF rules, monitor traffic patterns, respond to anomalies, and ensure our edge security posture stays current.
- Own platform security and audit posture AWS IAM, secrets management, Zero Trust controls, TLS/mTLS, and compliance-as-code. Audit logging across RDS and platform infrastructure must be thorough and reviewable.
- Support Australia-based stakeholders and overseas clients engage clearly and professionally with our Australian leadership team and international clients. Available outside standard India hours when needed. Excellent spoken and written English is essential.
- Define and maintain observability build SLOs, dashboards, alerting, and incident response processes. Your team should identify and resolve issues quickly.
- Champion AI tooling in DevOps workflows actively contribute to our Claude Code rollout on AWS Bedrock. Bring practical ideas on where AI accelerates DevOps and help the team adopt it confidently.
Required Skills & Experience
- 15+ years in DevOps/cloud engineering, 3+ years in a leadership role
- Proven track record containerising live production applications with no or minimal downtime
- Deep, hands-on AWS in production (EKS, RDS, IAM, VPC)
- Kubernetes in production not just local clusters
- Strong .NET application deployment and containerisation experience
- AWS RDS across SQL Server and PostgreSQL security, audit logging, and HA
- Cloudflare WAF configuration and traffic monitoring
- Terraform or equivalent IaC used at scale
- Automation-first mindset scripting and eliminating toil is instinctive
- Background in growing, fast-paced companies
- Excellent spoken and written English; experience with overseas clients or global teams
- Valid passport; willing and able to travel to Australia for first 4 weeks
- Flexible to support Australian time zone when required
