Job Description

Cloud DevOps Engineer – Terminal API Product

About Worldline

At Worldline, we are pioneers in payments technology, committed to creating innovative solutions that make financial transactions secure, accessible, and seamless worldwide. Our diverse team of professionals collaborates across cultures and disciplines, driving progress that benefits society and businesses of all sizes.

We believe that diverse perspectives fuel innovation. We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where all individuals, regardless of background, identity, or experience, can thrive and contribute meaningfully to our shared vision.

The Opportunity

We are scaling our payment terminal platform to support Cloud connected terminals with persistent WebSocket sessions, event-driven transaction processing, and high-availability infrastructure. As we transition from a medium scale architecture to a platform capable of supporting Cloud payment terminals, we need a DevOps Engineer who can bridge the gap between application development and cloud operations. You will own the CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, container orchestration, and operational health of services including the WS CM ECS cluster, CloudAPI (TAPI Cloud ECS), Lambda-based TransactionManager, and the supporting queue and datastore infrastructure on AWS. This role demands strong technical expertise in cloud architecture, infrastructure-as-code, containerisation, and CI/CD pipelines, combined with excellent problem-solving and communication skills. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences, believing that our strength lies in our diversity. Your unique perspectives will help us ensure secure, scalable, and efficient cloud operations that power the future of payment technology.

Location: Chennai

Experience: 6 to 10 Years

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for ECS services (WS CM, Cloud API) and Lambda functions (TransactionManager) using GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or equivalent.

• Manage container build, tagging, and deployment workflows for ECS Fargate services from ECR. • Implement and maintain blue/green and rolling deployment strategies to support zero-downtime releases of WS CM and Cloud API.

• Configure environment-specific infrastructure (dev, staging, prod) using Terraform or AWS CDK, ensuring parity between environments.

• Operate and monitor ECS autoscaling, ALB health checks, and target group configurations for persistent WebSocket workloads.

• Manage secrets and configuration (AWS Secrets Manager, SSM Parameter Store) across all services.

• Build and maintain operational dashboards (CloudWatch, Grafana) covering active WS connections, reconnect rates, queue depths, Lambda errors, and transaction latency.

• Set up alerting and on-call runbooks for critical scenarios: connection state staleness, DLQ backlog, FAILED_TO_SEND_TO_TERMINAL spikes, and Lambda throttling.

• Support load testing infrastructure to validate 10,000+ concurrent WebSocket connections. • Implement log aggregation and structured log pipelines (CloudWatch Logs Insights, OpenSearch, or equivalent).
