- Infor is looking for an SRE, DBA, or DevOps engineer to join the team!
- As a team member, you will assist in managing, automating, and developing for a large enterprise fleet of cloud-based database environments, particularly SQL Server and PostgreSQL. Some of the responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Contributing to DBA SRE Team responsible for proactive review, refinement, and enhancement of SQL Server related processes to ensure optimal availability, efficiency, and performance.
- Contributing to DBA Build Team responsible for deploying Multi-Tenant SQL Server and PostgreSQL database cluster environments.
- Management of fleet wide Cloud Operations SQL Server and PostgreSQL database environments.
- Automation development, design, and build out utilizing AWS achieving high availability and performance.
- Development of automating maintenance procedures for deployments of SQL Server and PostgreSQL instances.
- Management and deployment of AWS based data tiers, including SQL Server and PostgreSQL high availability clusters (HADR, AOAG), automation packaging, and redundancy validation.
- Performance tuning production environments, index tuning, query plan analysis/remediation, and load balancing through the development of maintenance procedure automation.
- Automation development design and buildout utilizing AWS Availability Zones and Capacity Planning.
- Development of automating maintenance procedures for deployments of SQL Server instances.
- Furthermore, you will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance of critical RDBMS systems. Experience with other database technologies such as DB2 and Oracle is useful but not required. Cloud Experience is strongly preferred but not required.
Basic requirements:
- Understanding of RDBMS platforms, including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, including backups, recovery, and tuning.
- Understanding of OS platforms and configurations, including Microsoft Windows and Linux
- Programming/Scripting skills, such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, Perl, or other scripting languages.
- Experience writing and debugging SQL.
Preferred:
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure or other cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of other RDBMS platforms, such as Oracle, Open Edge, or DB2.
- Experience with Storage systems.
- Experience with Networking.
- Experience with PowerShell and SQL writing, debugging, and execution.
- Experience with SQL Server and PostgreSQL Database Administration and Performance-Tuning.
- Participation in DevOps related processes.
- Participation in Backup and Recovery tasks.
- Participation in Capacity planning.
- Participation in Incident and Problem Resolution.
