Reports to: Director of Platform Engineering

Role : 

This is a senior architect role anchored to the Platform & Infrastructure team with horizontal influence across every product team. You will own the cloud architecture, reliability, security posture, and cost-to serve of our SaaS platform on AWS.

What You'll Do

•   Own end-to-end cloud architecture on AWS 

•   Stay deeply hands-on (40–60% in code / IaC)

•   Set cloud and infra standards across teams 

•   Own scalability, reliability, and cost 

•    Build the internal developer platform

•   Own the security architecture

•   Drive HIPAA-ready posture 

•   Lead architecture reviews and design partnerships 

•   Own the hardest production infra problems 

•   Be the technical voice with customers and partners 

•   Drive build vs. buy vs. partner decisions 

•   Multiply senior infra and SRE talent  

•   Partner with Directors and EMs 

What We're Looking For:

•   12+ years in cloud / infrastructure / platform engineering — with multiple stints at Senior / Staff / Principal level in product or SaaS companies — at least one of which involved horizontal influence across multiple teams.

• Deep, current AWS expertise — EKS / ECS / Fargate / Lambda, ALB / API Gateway / CloudFront, SQS / SNS / EventBridge / Kinesis / MSK, S3 / EBS / EFS / RDS / Aurora, networking

•   Proven cloud architecture ownership for multi-tenant SaaS — serving enterprise customers — VPC and account topology, identity, secrets, tenant isolation, blast-radius design.

•   Strong production Kubernetes experience — EKS at scale, IRSA / workload identity, service mesh, autoscaling (Karpenter / Cluster Autoscaler), cost optimization, security posture.

•   IaC depth at scale — Terraform or AWS CDK / CloudFormation — modules, state management, drift control, policy-as-code (Service Control Policies / AWS Config / OPA).

•   Reliability engineering — SLI / SLO design, error budgets, capacity planning, postmortems, incident command.

•   Observability — metrics, logs, traces. Has designed monitoring strategies for production systems with real cardinality and cost trade-offs.

•   Strong security architecture — identity, network, secrets, supply chain, vulnerability management, HIPAA-ready controls.

•   FinOps — cloud cost-to-serve modeling, optimization, chargeback / showback.

•   Excellent written Comm. — RFCs, ADRs, runbooks, security questionnaires, and crisp executive narratives. Can hold a room of senior engineers and a room of execs in the same week.

•   Pragmatic judgment — bias toward the simplest infra that scales, willingness to delete cost, instinct for when to centralize vs. let teams self-serve.

•   Track record of force-multiplication — IaC modules others adopted, runbooks others reused, talks / writing / OSS that elevated team practice.

•   Based in Pune — open to hybrid work (2–3 days/week onsite).

Nice to Have 

* HIPAA/PHI cloud architecture experience preferred.

* Exposure to multi-cloud environments, including Azure.

 * Experience in platform engineering or developer platforms. 

* Background in cloud and container modernization.
