Role Summary:
Looking for a hands-on Azure ArchitectEngineer to design and implement Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI) hybrid infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The role combines architecture design with hands-on development to deploy scalable, secure, and automated Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and deploy Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI) hybrid infrastructure.
- Develop and manage infrastructure using Terraform and ARM templates.
- Automate Azure and Azure Local deployments through CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement networking, storage, identity, and security best practices.
- Ensure high availability, monitoring, and operational reliability.
- Create and maintain IaC modules/templates and pipelines specifically for Azure local deployment (Terraform/Bicep/ARM as applicable).
- Build automated validation, smoke tests, and acceptance checks for Day0 deployments; document rollback and remediation steps.
- Harden and configure security controls, access model, and onboarding runbooks for onprem infrastructure; coordinate vendor/hardware lifecycle tasks as needed.
- Produce operator runbooks and handover artifacts for onsite teams
Required Skills
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure Local / Azure Stack HCI.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/ ARM).
- Knowledge of Azure networking, identity (Entra ID), and security.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows.
- Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Maintain and deploy IaC through CI/CD pipelines to manage both Azure public and Azure local resources with consistent governance and change control.
- Work with service teams to create and maintain Terraform modules to map to their service portfolio.
- Document Day1 procedures, test upgrade/patch workflows regularly, and train/mentor operations teams on runbook execution and automation tooling.
