About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced AWS Architect / DevOps Lead to design, build, and operate the cloud infrastructure for a modern SaaS-based data and AI platform. The platform processes large-scale datasets and supports advanced analytics and AI-driven workloads. This role is responsible for architecting and managing secure, scalable, and highly available AWS environments, ensuring that platform infrastructure supports enterprise-grade reliability, performance, and security. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in AWS architecture, DevOps automation, multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure, and cloud-native data and AI services, with experience operating systems that meet strict SLA and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure:

• Design and implement secure, scalable AWS architectures supporting a multi-tenant SaaS platform (Landing Zone/Control Tower).
• Define infrastructure patterns aligned with industry best practices and AWS Well Architected Framework.
• Architect highly available systems meeting strict SaaS SLAs, uptime, and reliability targets.
• Design scalable networking architectures including VPCs, subnets, security groups, NAT gateways, and load balancing.

DevOps & Infrastructure Automation:

• Lead development and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as:
• Terraform
• AWS CloudFormation
• CDK
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments.
• Implement automated deployment processes across development, staging, and production environments.
• Establish automated provisioning and configuration management for cloud resources.

SaaS Platform Operations:

• Architect and manage multi-tenant SaaS deployments with strong tenant isolation and scalability.
• Ensure the platform meets enterprise reliability, scalability, and availability requirements.
• Design systems supporting:
• High-throughput data ingestion
• Large-scale analytics workloads
• AI and machine learning pipelines
• Implement operational practices for monitoring, incident response, and production stability.

Data & AI Platform Infrastructure:

• Design infrastructure supporting large-scale data platforms and AI workloads.
• Deploy and manage AWS services used for data and AI processing, including:
• S3 for data lakes
• EMR or Spark-based processing
• Redshift or other analytics databases
• Athena for query services
• Build infrastructure supporting AI and machine learning workflows, including:
• Model execution services
• Vector search infrastructure
• LLM integrations
• Architect integrations with AWS Bedrock and other AI services.

Performance Optimization & Cost Management:

• Optimize cloud architecture for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Implement best practices for AWS resource utilization and cost optimization.
• Monitor system performance and proactively improve infrastructure efficiency.
• Establish policies for resource governance and cost control.

Security & Compliance:

• Implement strong security controls across the AWS environment.
• Manage IAM roles, policies, and secure access patterns.
• Ensure infrastructure adheres to industry security and compliance standards.
• Implement encryption, network security, and audit logging best practices.

Observability & Reliability:

• Implement monitoring and observability using tools such as:
• CloudWatch
• Prometheus / Grafana
• Centralized logging platforms
• Establish operational procedures supporting high availability and disaster recovery.
• Design backup, failover, and recovery mechanisms.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10–14 years of experience in cloud architecture, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering.
• Deep expertise in AWS architecture and cloud-native infrastructure design.
• Proven experience designing and operating large-scale SaaS platforms on AWS.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK).
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Experience operating production environments with strict SLAs and uptime requirements.
