Job Description
We are looking for a highly accomplished Principal Cloud Architect (15+ years) with deep expertise in designing and governing enterprise-scale, multi-cloud architectures. The ideal candidate has strong leadership capabilities, mastery over AWS/Azure/GCP platforms, and proven experience driving cloud modernization, Kubernetes platforms, HA/DR, automation, and cloud security at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Governance
- Architect secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions for enterprise workloads.
- Design multi-cloud landing zones, interoperability frameworks, and workload placement strategies.
- Lead cloud modernization initiatives using microservices, containers, service mesh, and cloud-native patterns.
- Define architecture across compute, networking, storage, IAM, automation, observability, and data services.
- Establish architecture governance, best practices, and technical standards.
HA/DR & Backup
- Define enterprise HA/DR architectures including RPO/RTO strategies, regional failover, and cross-region replication.
- Manage snapshot lifecycle, backup policies, and restore process across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Design scalable backup frameworks using Velero, cloud-native services, and hybrid solutions.
Kubernetes & Platform Engineering
- Architect multi-region Kubernetes platforms with service mesh (Istio/Consul), policy governance, and zero-trust networking.
- Define observability standardslogs, metrics, traces, SLIs/SLOsfor reliability engineering.
- Partner with DevOps/SRE teams to implement CI/CD, GitOps, IaC pipelines, and operational automation.
Integration & Messaging
- Architect large-scale integrations using Apache Kafka, Event streaming, message queues, and microservices patterns.
- Define event-driven architecture strategies across multi-cloud workloads.
FinOps & Leadership
- Drive cost governance, forecasting, and optimization through FinOps best practices.
- Establish chargeback/showback models and cloud consumption transparency.
- Lead architecture reviews, build reference architectures, and guide PoCs.
- Mentor engineering teams and collaborate with security to implement IAM guardrails, posture management, and compliance automation.
Must-Have Skills
- 15+ years of experience in enterprise cloud architecture.
- Deep expertise in AWS, Azure, and GCP (compute, networking, IAM, storage, serverless).
- Strong experience building multi-cloud landing zones and governance frameworks.
- Expert-level Kubernetes architecture experience (multi-region, mesh, governance, security).
- Advanced HA/DR architecture, cross-region replication, failover automation.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of backup technologies (Velero, cloud-native, hybrid).
- Hybrid networking expertise: Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, VPN, Transit Gateway, SD-WAN.
- Expertise in cloud security: IAM, CSPM, CWPP, guardrails, zero-trust.
- Experience with SRE practices: SLIs/SLOs, chaos engineering, observability standards.
- Expertise in Kafka, event streaming, and integration patterns.
- Strong understanding of observability stacks: metrics, logs, traces, pipelines.
- Hands-on IaC experience with Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Strong documentation skills: HLD, LLD, ADR, architecture frameworks.
- Strong leadership in cloud governance, standards, and cross-functional collaboration.
