We're looking for a Cloud Applications Operations Manager to join us as we continue to build our Pune based team.

In this newly created role, you will oversee the efficient operation of cloud infrastructure, ensuring smooth service delivery. This will include managing troubleshooting processes, system upgrades and monitoring cloud performance to meet performance, security and availability targets.
You will balance hands-on delivery with people leadership, managing multi-location teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Owning the day-to-day operations, ensuring that our systems and services are proactively managed
  • Ensuring high availability and performance of assets that are owned by your teams.
  • Managing 3rd line support activities and act as escalation within the Service Operations function.
  • Managing and optimising resources to reduce costs and improve efficiency e.g. creating automation scripts and routines that remove manual intervention from Service Operations.
  • Managing acceptance criteria for the transition of new services into Service Operations.
  • Managing the security and cost health of public cloud infrastructure owned by Service Operations.
  • Managing the testing and invocation of business continuity and disaster service operations recovery plans.
As part of the Service Operations senior leadership team, you will, when required, deputise for the Head of Function, attending business review meetings, finance planning meetings and technical strategy meetings, which may require international travel.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


People Management
You will have
  • Minimum 2 years experience of working in either a Team Leader or People Manager capacity.
  • Proactively managing team members, including performance management and reviews.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workloads for multi-location teams across multiple time zones.
Technical:
  • Proven experience working in an IT service delivery or support function
  • Advanced Microsoft Active Directory configuration and support.
  • Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud hosting platform management.
  • Microsoft sentinel working knowledge.
  • Advanced Microsoft SQL server experience.
  • Windows Server and desktop management and configuration.
  • Microsoft IIS web services administration and configuration.
  • Advanced management of data and SQL backup solutions.
  • Advanced scripting and automation capabilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of Azure analytics and KQL.
Behavioural:
  • Excellent communication skills developed working in a service centric organisation.
  • Ability to interpret fault descriptions provided by customers or internal escalations and translate these into resolutions.
  • Experience managing technical or process-based forums and meetings such as the Change Advisory Board.
  • Experience in the creation of data repositories for operational policies, processes and procedures.
  • Managing technology refresh programs to avoid the use of end-of-life components within the production domain.
Experience working within Education Technology would be an advantage.
