About the Role
Dentalkart is looking for an experienced Category Manager with strong dental domain expertise and a sharp commercial mindset. This role involves complete ownership of assigned dental categories, driving growth through strategic sourcing, pricing, brand development, and revenue optimization. The ideal candidate will play a key role in expanding category performance while ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage assigned dental product categories end-to-end
- Drive category growth through assortment planning, pricing strategies, and promotions
- Build and manage strong relationships with vendors, brands, and manufacturers
- Ensure optimal product availability, competitiveness, and inventory health
- Analyze category performance, sales trends, margins, and demand forecasts
- Identify new product opportunities and onboard relevant brands and SKUs
- Collaborate with marketing, supply chain, and operations teams for seamless execution
- Develop and execute category-level business plans aligned with organizational goals
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and applicable regulatory requirements
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Education:BDS + MBA (Mandatory)
- Experience: 48 years in category management, product management, or commercial roles
- Strong understanding of dental products, instruments, and consumables
- Proven commercial acumen with experience in pricing, margin optimization, and P&L ownership
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
