About the Role
We are seeking a Clinical Data Annotation SME (Freelancer) to support advanced AI evaluation initiatives focused on clinical data annotation, medical record interpretation, biomedical NLP, healthcare datasets, clinical documentation, and AI-generated healthcare content evaluation.
In this role, you will evaluate and annotate complex clinical datasets, review AI-generated annotations, validate medical concepts, assess clinical reasoning, and ensure high-quality labeled healthcare data for training and evaluating advanced AI systems.
This position is ideal for professionals with experience in clinical data annotation, medical coding, clinical informatics, healthcare data management, clinical research, biomedical data curation, or healthcare AI.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate AI-generated clinical reasoning and ensure consistency with accepted medical practice.
- Identify annotation inconsistencies, terminology errors, hallucinations, missing entities, incorrect relationships, and labeling defects.
- Provide structured feedback to improve AI performance in clinical annotation, healthcare NLP, and biomedical AI.
- Review peer-developed annotations and maintain annotation quality standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Clinical Research, Health Informatics, or a related healthcare field.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in clinical data annotation, clinical documentation, healthcare data management, medical coding, clinical research, biomedical NLP, or healthcare AI.
- Reviewing medical records and clinical documentation.
- Validating medical terminology and coding.
- Evaluating AI-generated clinical annotations.
- Knowledge of healthcare privacy regulations including HIPAA and other applicable data protection standards.
- Excellent analytical thinking, clinical reasoning, attention to detail, documentation, and written English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with hospitals, healthcare systems, CROs, pharmaceutical companies, medical AI startups, health technology companies, research organizations, or academic medical centers.
- Experience supporting AI model training, clinical NLP, biomedical text mining, medical knowledge graphs, or healthcare data curation.
- Experience evaluating AI-generated clinical documentation, medical coding, healthcare datasets, or biomedical annotations.
- Familiarity with Generative AI, biomedical LLMs, AI benchmarking, RLHF (Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback), healthcare AI governance, or clinical decision support AI is highly desirable.
