As a KYC Operations Team Manager within Regulatory Event & Compliance Operations, Consumer and Community Banking Operations, you oversee a team of non-exempt KYC Specialists to ensure consistent execution of KYC/CIP standards. You lead day-to-day operations, coach performance, and manage escalations while meeting productivity and quality goals. You strengthen risk and control outcomes by driving process improvements, quality assurance, and ongoing readiness for audits and RCSAs.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day management of KYC Specialists by coaching, developing, and providing ongoing performance feedback.
- Manage staffing actions including selection, promotion input, performance management, discipline, and termination for the assigned team.
- Monitor individual performance trends over time and ensure team productivity and quality goals are consistently met.
- Resolve internal and external customer inquiries and escalations by defining issues, analyzing impacts, and addressing service gaps.
- Perform quality assurance reviews of KYC outputs, document findings, and deliver timely, objective feedback and corrective actions.
- Drive process improvements by identifying root causes, implementing process changes, and interpreting information to better protect the firm.
- Proactively escalate potential issues to management and Compliance and participate in RCSAs to confirm controls mitigate risk and pass audits.
Required qualifications, skills and capabilities
- Graduate with 4+ years of experience, including data processing and minimum 3 years of people management
- Demonstrated ability to develop, coach, motivate, and lead teams through continuous communication and feedback
- Strong capability to analyze, prioritize, solve problems, and execute viable solutions using data and sound judgment
- Proficiency with mainframe and PC-based systems and strong MS Office skills strong communication and presentation skills
Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities
- Experience in AML, Compliance, Fraud, KYC, or Operational Risk
- Knowledge of banking products across customer segments (Retail, Commercial, Small Business)
- Proven leadership in process and organizational change and implementing operational improvements
- Demonstrated comfort with ambiguity and ability to adapt effectively to change
Candidates should be flexible to work in night shifts (timings might vary according to process requirements)
