Job Description

Role Purpose

The purpose of the Claims role is to manage the end‑to‑end claims process efficiently, ensuring fair, accurate, and timely settlements. The role involves reviewing and validating claims, liaising with insurers, advocating for clients interests, and guiding them throughout the claims journey to achieve satisfactory outcomes.

Key Expectations of the Role

1. Claims Processing and Documentation

  • Review, validate, and process claims in accordance with established protocols and policy guidelines.
  • Ensure all required documentation is accurately collected, verified, and maintained, including client statements, accident reports, and relevant records.

2. Client Advocacy and Communication

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the claims process, providing clear, timely updates and guidance.
  • Advocate for clients rights and interests to ensure fair and just claim outcomes.

3. Settlement or Compromised Settlement

  • Substantiate claims with insurers to secure optimal and appropriate settlements for clients.
  • Ensure settlements align with policy terms, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.

4. Conflict Resolution and Customer Service

  • Address client concerns, disputes, and escalations professionally and within agreed timelines.
  • Maintain positive client relationships by delivering high standards of customer service throughout the claims process.

Competencies Required for the Role

1. Insurance Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of insurance policies, coverage, claims procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and claims‑related legal considerations.

2. Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a client‑focused and empathetic approach.

3. Analytical Thinking and Problem‑Solving

  • Ability to analyze claim details, policy terms, and supporting documentation to make informed decisions.
  • Proactively identifies challenges and implements effective solutions to facilitate smooth claims processing.

4. Negotiation and Persuasion

  • Demonstrates strong negotiation skills to achieve favorable claim settlements.
  • Effectively presents and supports clients claims to insurers.

5. Interpersonal Skills

  • Demonstrates empathy, professionalism, and the ability to manage client expectations throughout the claims lifecycle.

Personal Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience: Prior experience in claims handling, insurance operations, or a related role is advantageous.
  • Certifications: Relevant insurance or claims management certifications are an added advantage.
  • Technology Proficiency: Proficient in claims management systems, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
