Job Description:
- Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM (International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision, Clinical Modification) diagnosis codes and ICD-10-PCS (Procedure Coding System) codes to inpatient records based on physician documentation.
- Review and code all documents for inpatient encounters, including surgeries, tests and diagnosis.
- Apply codes, which classify patient cases into groups that are used for reimbursement.
- Code records in a timely manner to meet billing cycles and hospital deadlines.
- Ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
