Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Civil Engineering Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing project execution, supervising engineering teams, coordinating with contractors and consultants, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and delivering projects within approved timelines and budgets.
The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and hands-on experience in managing residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Execution:
- Prepare detailed project execution plans, work schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction methodologies.
- Manage end-to-end civil construction activities including excavation, foundation works, RCC, masonry, finishing, and external development works.
- Ensure project milestones are achieved within defined timelines and quality standards.
- Monitor site progress and proactively address technical and operational challenges.
2. Team Leadership & Contractor Management:
- Lead, supervise, and mentor site engineers, supervisors, and construction teams.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and project stakeholders for seamless execution.
- Conduct regular performance reviews of contractors and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
- Facilitate effective communication among all project participants to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Drive team productivity and ensure optimum utilization of manpower and resources.
3. Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance:
- Implement and monitor Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) procedures across project sites.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Verify material quality and workmanship standards before execution and handover.
- Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and regulations.
- Identify project risks and implement preventive and corrective measures.
4. Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Prepare project budgets, cost estimates, and resource planning schedules.
- Monitor project expenditures and implement cost-control measures to optimize profitability.
- Track variations, change orders, and project claims.
- Review and approve vendor invoices, contractor bills, and procurement requests.
- Monitor material consumption, inventory utilization, and wastage control.
5. Coordination & Reporting:
- Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP teams, government authorities, and regulatory bodies as required.
- Ensure timely approvals, clearances, and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, site records, Daily Progress Reports (DPRs), and MIS reports.
- Present project status updates, risk assessments, and resolution plans to senior management.
- Support management in strategic planning and project delivery initiatives.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of civil construction methodologies, project execution, and site management.
- Thorough understanding of RCC works, structural systems, finishing works, and construction materials.
- Expertise in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera, Microsoft Excel, and ERP systems.
- Strong leadership, team management, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making abilities.
- Sound knowledge of local building codes, bye-laws, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
Educational Qualification:
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering – Mandatory
- M.Tech in Civil Engineering – Preferred
