Civil Engineer- Roads

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and execute road construction activities as per approved drawings and specifications.
• Manage day-to-day site activities including earthwork, subgrade, GSB, WMM, DBM/BC and road finishing works.
• Monitor levels, alignment, slopes, gradients and cross-sections of road works.
• Coordinate with surveyors, subcontractors, vendors and site teams for smooth project execution.
• Check and verify quantities, measurements and work progress at site.
• Ensure construction activities are completed within the planned schedule and required quality standards.
• Coordinate with the QA/QC team for material testing and quality control of road works.
• Monitor construction materials, manpower and equipment requirements.
• Review drawings, BOQs and technical specifications and resolve site-related issues.
• Maintain daily progress reports, site records, measurements and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with IRC, MoRTH specifications and applicable project standards.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager/Construction Manager regarding progress, technical issues and site requirements.
• Ensure proper implementation of site safety procedures and safe working practices.

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Road & Highway Construction.
• Hands-on experience in earthwork, subgrade, GSB, WMM and bituminous works.
• Knowledge of road levels, surveying and quantity measurements.
• Good understanding of drawings, BOQ and construction specifications.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Excel will be preferred.
• Good coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage site activities and subcontractors independently.
