Responsibilities:
1. Planning and Design
- Prepare construction plans, drawings, and layouts.
- Review structural and architectural drawings.
- Calculate quantities, dimensions, and material requirements.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards.
2. Site Supervision
- Supervise daily construction activities at the site.
- Monitor the work of contractors, subcontractors, and laborers.
- Ensure construction follows approved drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and project managers.
3. Quality Control
- Inspect construction materials and workmanship.
- Ensure concrete, steel, masonry, and other works meet quality standards.
- Arrange or monitor tests such as concrete slump tests and cube tests.
- Identify defects and ensure corrective actions are taken.
4. Quantity Estimation and Cost Control
- Prepare quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
- Estimate material, labor, and equipment requirements.
- Monitor material consumption and project expenses.
- Help control wastage and keep the project within budget.
5. Safety Management
- Ensure workers follow site safety procedures.
- Identify potential hazards and report unsafe conditions.
- Check the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate with safety officers to maintain a safe working environment.
