Job Description : Civil Design Engineer

Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in Biogas or Compressed Biogas (CBG) projects

Role Objective:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Civil Design Engineer to lead the structural and infrastructural design of large-scale Biogas and Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between process requirements and physical construction, ensuring all civil structures—from digester foundations, sheds, equipment foundations to storage lagoons—are engineered for durability, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Structural Design: Develop detailed civil and structural designs for CBG plant components, including RCC digesters, pre-treatment tanks, purification unit foundations, and compressor sheds.
- Site Layout Planning: Create comprehensive site master plans, including grading, drainage systems, internal roads, and compound wall layouts tailored to biomass processing workflows.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, reinforced concrete detailing, and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD or specialized structural software.
- Estimation & BOQ: Prepare accurate Bill of Quantities (BOQ), cost estimations, and material specifications for civil works.
- Site Coordination: Provide technical support to site execution teams to ensure construction aligns with design specifications and troubleshoot any on-site structural challenges.
- Vendor Management: Review technical submissions from civil contractors and specialized vendors for pre-cast or PEB (Pre-Engineered Building) structures.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of core experience in the design and engineering of Biogas or CBG plants.
- Software Proficiency: Expertise in AutoCAD (2D & 3D).
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (STAAD.Pro, ETABS, or Revit).
- Strong command of MS Office (Excel for BOQ and scheduling).
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of RCC design for liquid-retaining structures (IS 3370).
- Knowledge of soil mechanics and foundation engineering for heavy industrial machinery.
- Familiarity with PESO (Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization) guidelines for CBG plant layouts is a significant advantage
Preferred Attributes
- Previous experience with Napier grass-based or multi-feedstock biogas projects.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced consultancy or project execution environment.
