Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced CICS Systems Programmer with strong expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies to support and maintain enterprise-scale CICS environments. The role involves installation, maintenance, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and production support for mission-critical applications running on IBM z/OS.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain CICS Transaction Server environments.
- Perform CICS administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Support CICS regions, resource definitions, and production environments.
- Apply software maintenance and upgrades using SMP/E.
- Analyze and resolve production issues, system dumps, and CICS abends.
- Work closely with application teams and infrastructure teams to support business-critical systems.
- Integrate CICS with other mainframe technologies such as DB2, IBM MQ, and IMS.
- Support disaster recovery activities, production implementations, and on-call rotations.
- Monitor system health using tools such as OMEGAMON, MainView, or TMON.
- Ensure high availability and compliance with SLA requirements.
Required Skills
- 7+ years of experience in CICS Systems Programming/Administration.
- Strong experience with IBM CICS Transaction Server.
- Hands-on expertise in z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, and SMP/E.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON, MainView, or TMON.
- Good troubleshooting and production support experience, including dump/abend analysis.
- Working knowledge of DB2, IBM MQ, IMS, and RACF.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a 24x7 production support environment.
Preferred
- Experience supporting large enterprise or banking/financial services environments.
- Experience with disaster recovery, change implementation, and capacity/performance management.
