Role Description The Chinese Chef will be responsible for planning, preparing, and presenting authentic and contemporary Chinese cuisine for the hotel's restaurant and banqueting operations. This full-time, on-site role based in Vishakhapatnam includes designing menus, developing new dishes, and maintaining consistent food quality and portion standards. The Chinese Chef will oversee daily kitchen operations for the Chinese section, including ordering ingredients, managing inventory, and ensuring timely service. Responsibilities include training and guiding kitchen team members, enforcing hygiene and safety standards, and collaborating with the Executive Chef and restaurant leadership to deliver an exceptional guest dining experience. The role also involves monitoring food costs, minimizing waste, and supporting special events and promotions that showcase Chinese culinary offerings.

Qualifications

  • Culinary skills in Chinese cuisine, including wok cooking, dim sum preparation, and regional Chinese specialties.
  • Experience in menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation for restaurant and banqueting operations.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, including inventory management, food cost control, and waste reduction.
  • Ability to lead, train, and motivate kitchen team members, fostering collaboration and a respectful work environment.
  • Commitment to food safety, hygiene standards, and compliance with local health regulations.
  • Prior experience as a Chinese Chef or in a similar role in upscale hotels or fine-dining restaurants.
  • Relevant culinary qualification or formal chef training from a recognized institute.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and diverse colleagues.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by hotel operations.
