Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mehekar for the position of Chief Veterinary Officer. The role involves overseeing veterinary programs and ensuring the well-being of animals under the organization's care. Responsibilities include managing veterinary teams, conducting medical assessments, devising treatment plans, collaborating with animal welfare stakeholders, and contributing to education and outreach initiatives. The Chief Veterinary Officer will also ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and support the organization in fulfilling its mission in animal welfare and environmental protection.

Qualifications
  • Veterinary expertise including animal healthcare, surgical procedures, and disease management.
  • Experience in team management and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders in the veterinary and welfare sectors.
  • Skills in education and outreach, including training, program development, and public advocacy on animal welfare topics.
  • Proficiency in navigating health and safety regulations and guidelines related to animal care.
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and leadership abilities to coordinate multi-stakeholder initiatives effectively.
  • Dedication to animal welfare and the principles of sustainable and ethical practices.
  • A degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) and a valid veterinary license are required.
  • Experience in non-profit organizations or related sectors is an advantage.
