The Role (Build → Own → Scale)

We are looking for a CTO Co-Founder with a Builder–Owner mindset.

You will start hands-on as a senior technologist and grow into the CTO of OctaSence's patent-driven AI platform.

This is not a pure developer role.

 This is a build-to-own role.

You will work closely with the Founder (Product, Domain & GTM) to take ideas:

From whiteboard to prototype

From prototype to patent

From POC to enterprise-scale production

End-to-end technical architecture for OctaSence products

AI systems including:

Sensor analytics (time-series, anomaly detection)

Computer vision (cracks, deformation, movement)

Risk scoring and predictive models

AI agents for reports, alerts, and compliance

Patent-ready technical designs and system documentation

Collaboration with patent attorneys for claims and drafting

Early cloud, DevOps, and deployment strategy

Technical representation in:

Investor discussions

Enterprise client conversations

Product differentiation narratives

Core Skills Required (OctaSence-Specific)AI & Machine Learning (Must-Have)

Strong command of:

Classical Machine Learning

Deep Learning

Time-series analysis

Anomaly detection

Hands-on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow

Ability to operationalize open-source AI models

Computer Vision & Multimodal AI

Image/video analytics (crack detection, deformation patterns)

CV pipelines using OpenCV and DL models

Understanding of sensor + vision data fusion

GenAI & Agentic AI

LLM-based systems for:

Automated reports

Risk summaries

Compliance intelligence

Prompt engineering and RAG concepts

AI agents reasoning over structured and unstructured data

Edge AI & IoT (Very Important)

Understanding of edge constraints (latency, compute, bandwidth)

Model optimization for edge devices

Working knowledge of IoT data pipelines

Sensor data ingestion and validation

Data & Architecture

Strong Python (APIs, data pipelines, automation)

ETL pipelines and data preprocessing

API-first system design

SQL and time-series databases

Cloud & DevOps

Proficiency in at least one cloud platform (AWS / GCP / Azure)

Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes

Scalable system design mindset

Ideal Background

M.Tech / MS / Bachelor's in AI or CS degree from IIT, IIM, BITS preferred.

5-10 years of experience in AI, Data, Software, or Product Engineering

At least 5 years of startup experience

Proven track record of:

Shipping MVPs

Leading small engineering teams

Taking prototypes to production

Exposure to IP creation or patents is a strong plus

Engagement Model

Fully remote and flexible

8–10 hours per week initially

Expect 80–100 focused hours in the early months to establish the technical foundation

Monthly alignment and progress reviews

Equity & Ownership

Up to 5-10% equity, milestone-linked:

Prototype → Patent filing → MVP → Traction / Funding

Equity granted after the first patent filing

Patent co-inventorship

Option to transition into:

Full-time CTO role post-funding

CXO role in a spin-off product company

Equity cash-out if IP is sold
