- Define and execute the overall technology roadmap for battery chemistries (e.g., Liion, LFP, NMC, sodiumion, solidstate, nextgen chemistries).
- Lead innovation in electrode materials, electrolytes, binders, additives, separators, and cell design.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging battery technologies aligned with market and regulatory trends.
- Ensure strong IP generation and protection (patents, trade secrets, freedomtooperate).
R&D and Product Development
- Oversee fundamental research, applied R&D, and product development activities.
- Guide material optimization, formulation development, and performance validation.
- Ensure robust testing, validation, and battery performance benchmarking (energy density, cycle life, safety, fast charging).
- Collaborate with customers on applicationspecific battery solutions (EVs, ESS, consumer electronics, industrial).
Manufacturing & ScaleUp
- Lead labtopilottocommercial scaleup of battery materials and technologies.
- Drive design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and process optimization for yield, quality, and cost.
- Support establishment and optimization of cell manufacturing lines, chemical processing plants, and quality systems.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, IATF, safety, and environmental standards.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure battery technologies meet global safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee failure analysis, rootcause investigations, and continuous improvement.
- Champion ESG, sustainability, recycling, and circular economy initiatives.
Business & Strategic Collaboration
- Partner with CEO, COO, and Commercial Teams on technologydriven business strategy.
- Support customer engagement, technical sales, and key account development.
- Participate in JV, licensing, M&A technical due diligence.
- Represent the company at industry forums, conferences, and technical bodies.
People & Culture
- Build and mentor highperforming multidisciplinary teams (chemists, material scientists, electrochemists, engineers).
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and safety.
- Develop succession planning and technical leadership depth.
