Job Description

Department: Operations / Manufacturing

Location: Noida (with regular visits to all plant locations)

Employment Type: Full-time

Reports To: Managing Director

Experience Required: Minimum 15 years in manufacturing operations, including at least 5 years leading multi-plant or multi-location operations

Job Summary

We are looking for a strategic, hands-on Chief Operating Officer to take complete ownership of operations across all our manufacturing plants. Person will manage / oversea production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, safety, manpower and cost control and make sure every plant is efficient, profitable and ready to scale.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Strategy & Leadership

• Take overall responsibility for the smooth, safe and profitable functioning of all plants and operational units.

• Develop and execute operational strategies and annual operating plans aligned with the company's business objectives.

• Review performance of every plant and department regularly through structured MIS and review meetings.

• Ensure operational targets are achieved on time, with clear accountability at plant-head level.

2. Plant & Production Management

• Oversee production planning, manufacturing schedules and day-to-day plant performance.

• Ensure optimum utilisation of machinery, manpower, raw materials and capacity.

• Improve productivity and reduce downtime, wastage, rejection and rework.

• Identify operational bottlenecks and drive corrective actions to closure.

• Plan and lead capacity expansion, automation, modernisation and new plant projects, including capex planning and project execution.

3. Maintenance, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance systems for high equipment reliability and asset life.

• Build a strong safety culture with a clear target of zero major incidents across all plants.

• Ensure compliance with factory, labour, environmental, pollution-control and other statutory requirements.

4. Cost & Profitability Management

• Control manufacturing and operating costs, and identify cost-reduction opportunities without compromising quality.

• Monitor plant-wise profitability, cost per unit and operating expenses against budget.

• Work closely with Finance to improve overall EBITDA and return on capital employed.

• Prepare and manage operations budgets, and ensure budget discipline across plants.

5. Supply Chain & Inventory

• Oversee procurement, production planning, warehousing, logistics and dispatch as one connected chain.

• Ensure timely availability of raw materials, and develop and manage key suppliers for cost, quality and reliability.

• Maintain optimum inventory levels and reduce excess, slow-moving and obsolete stock.

• Ensure on-time delivery of finished goods to distributors, dealers and retailers.

6. People & Organisation Building

• Lead and mentor Plant Heads, Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain and HR teams across locations.

• Set clear KPIs, review performance, and build a performance-driven culture with accountability and recognition.

• Manage manpower planning, industrial relations, training and skill development, and build a succession pipeline for key roles.

7. Systems, Reporting & Governance

• Strengthen ERP and digital reporting so that plant data is accurate, timely and available for decisions.

• Present regular operational and financial performance reports to the Managing Director and Board.

• Ensure risk management, internal controls and policy compliance across all plants.
