Job Description

Job Purpose

Co-ordinate and Supervise Administration of Hospital, participation in Government & rural development medical activities and provide medical treatment to employees and their dependents to enable them contribute effectively to the productivity of the Unit and building social image.

Job Context & Major Challenges

Rajashree Cement is one of the single largest cement plants with an installed capacity to produce 4.2 million tons of cement/annum with captive power plant (38.5 MW) and mines, employing approximately 850 employees.

Rajashree Cement is maintaining a hospital for out-patient service for staff and workmen and their families.The hospital is equipped with X-Ray, ECG, Ultrasound Scanning, Spirometer, etc., for diagnosis.The cases are referred to outside hospital on need basis. Visit of specialists is arranged on alternate Sundays for specialised attention, e.g., Dental, ENT, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, etc. The hospital participates in conducting eye camps, dental check up, leprosy and TB detection, etc., on behalf of Kagina Jan Seva Trust. These facilities are also extended to local villagers on need basis. Regular health check ups for employees are conducted throughout the year.

Major challenges:

Handling of major accident cases with limited resources in view of non availability of good hospitals within 50 kms.

KRA1	Accountability- Administration: Co-ordinate and Supervise administration of Hospital for smooth operation of medical activities within the budget to achieve employee satisfaction	Close interaction with Head Medical Service and other staff. Preparation and monitoring budget Procurement of necessary medicines from time to time Arrangement of specialists from Gulbarga as per schedule Arrangement of ambulance with Medical equipments for shifting serious patients. Maintenance of special machines for proper working.
KRA2	Rural Support KJST: Co-ordinating medical camps in consultation with KJST to build Companys image in society	Conduct outside camps for the benefit of surrounding villagers Eye camps Dental check up Leprosy and Tuberculosis detection, etc. Co-ordinate with Government/other social agencies
KRA3	Government Support. Participation in Government proposed health programmes	Pulse-polio Family planning, mother-child care, etc. Co-ordinate with Govt. agencies
KRA4	Health of Employees Organise periodical medical examination of employees for identification, prevention and control of diseases to meet statutory requirements.	Organise health checkup programme. Identify trends of problems. Take preventive measures. Take advice of specialists as required. Maintain health register and records.
KRA5	Therapeutic service:Ensure proper diagnosis and treatment of patients	Attend out patients. Refer the special cases to specialists/hospitals in Gulbarga/ Hyderabad Handling of emergencies, including accidents, round the clock Carrying out necessary investigation in the laboratory X-Ray, ECG, Spirometry, Audiometry, Ultrasound Scanning, etc.
KRA6	System Implementation: The system requirements of ISO, EMS, OHSAS, SA 8000 and WCM systems in thorough the involvement of employees for improving working and quality standard.	Identify and improvement study and kaizen. Identify & get rectified. Abnormalities. Unsafe conditions/practices. 5S activities. Implementation plan for Quality improvement objectives. Improvement of WCM criteria score. Internal customer rating improvement. - Statutory compliance. Elimination of muda.
