Job Description

What are we looking for

We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Graduate to lead groups of Engineers and Draughtsmen, focusing on the design and engineering of thermal equipment for steel strip processing lines such as CGL, CCL, ARP, and ECL. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, in-depth technical knowledge in thermal calculations, and a commitment to ensuring quality, timely delivery, and the use of Best Available Technology.

Job Purpose:

  • Lead groups of Engineers and Draughtsmen to plan and complete engineering activities on time.
  • Having experience in Design and Engineering in the field of Steel Strip processing lines like CGL, CCL, ARP, ECL etc.
  • Fluency in thermal calculation and thermal design of equipment.

Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Control teams of Engineers and Draughtsmen to carry out engineering activities.
  • Plan the design activities for the project and for the team.
  • Ensure timely completion of all activities.
  • Provide P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) and Data Sheets as per requirements.
  • Perform Design calculations.
  • Select bought-out components.
  • Prepare models using 3D software like AutoDesk Inventor.
  • Ensure correctness of the drawings and documents prepared by the team.
  • Coordinate with other departments.
  • Communicate with customers and participate in technical discussions with customers.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing for discrepancies and deviations.
  • Coordinate with Erection and Commissioning for site support.
  • Ensure the use of BAT (Best Available Technology) in the equipment designed.

Miscellaneous:

  • Ensures compliance with quality, safety & environmental standards as per ISO 9001, 14001.

Decision-making Authority:

  • Planning and allocation of work among the team.
  • Approval of bought-outs.
  • Approval of vendor documents.
  • Modification of the design/drawings for better performance, under approval from the superior.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • First Class Engineering Graduate in Mechanical / Industrial / Production from a reputed university.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in the field of process design of Furnaces, Ovens, and thermal equipment.
  • Must have thorough experience in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor / SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of Ansys / FEA and CFD will be an added advantage.
  • Possess good communication skills.
  • Work experience in a Matrix Organization will be an added advantage.

Competencies:

  • Thorough knowledge of reading and preparing drawings.
  • Good knowledge of process equipment related to Mechanical/thermal systems.
  • Good at Planning & Decision-Making skills.
  • Good experience of thermal calculations and design.
  • Process knowledge of Galvanizing, Color coating will be preferred.
