Role Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (Freelancer / Fractional CFO) to lead and strengthen our financial strategy, planning, and governance. The role involves working closely with leadership to drive financial discipline, improve profitability, support fundraising efforts, and ensure strong financial controls as the company scales globally.
This is a remote, flexible engagement suited for a senior finance leader comfortable operating in high-growth, startup environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Own financial strategy, forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning
- Build and maintain strong financial models to support decision-making and growth planning
- Monitor cash flow, burn rate, and unit economics across business lines
- Provide insights on profitability, pricing strategy, and cost optimization
- Support fundraising activities, including investor decks, financial narratives, and due diligence
- Establish and strengthen financial controls, compliance, and reporting systems
- Work closely with leadership on business planning and strategic initiatives
- Evaluate financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies
- Oversee accounting processes and ensure accuracy of financial reporting
- Guide operational teams on financial discipline and resource allocation
Required Qualifications
- 8–15+ years of experience in finance, with leadership exposure (CFO, Finance Head, FP&A Lead, or similar roles)
- Strong background in financial planning, analysis, and strategic finance
- Experience working with startups, high-growth companies, or consulting/advisory environments
- Strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting
- Understanding of fundraising processes and investor relations
- Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets and financial systems
- Strong analytical thinking and business acumen
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment
Good to Have
- Experience in AI, tech, or data services companies
- Exposure to global operations (India + US markets preferred)
- Experience with dashboards / BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- CA / CPA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification
- Prior experience in cross-border finance and compliance
