Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Partner with the executive team to develop organisational strategy, operating plans, and growth goals
- Advise the CEO and leadership on financial performance and long-term financial planning
- Report financial information to the Board and manage relationships with Finance and Audit Committees
- Support strategic decisions with rigorous financial analysis, risk assessment, and scenario modelling
Financial Management & Planning
- Lead finance and accounting functions, including reporting, budgeting, cash flow, working capital, and financial controls
- Develop robust budgeting processes and forecasting models
- Oversee day-to-day financial reporting and monthly/quarterly performance metrics
- Ensure cost efficiency by monitoring operating costs as a percentage of total deployment
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with FCRA, financial regulations, and accounting standards
- Maintain effective, compliant operations by continuously identifying and mitigating risks
- Monitor and report on fund utilisation, budget allocation, and under/over utilisation
- Drive accuracy in donor and audit reporting and financial transparency
Team Leadership & Operational Excellence
- Lead and mentor a team of 5+ finance professionals and consultants
- Drive innovation by introducing technology-based solutions for reporting and automation
- Continuously evaluate the finance team's structure for efficiency and scalability
- Support the professional growth of team members through coaching and development
- Align team OKRs with the broader organisational strategy
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in finance-related roles
- At least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in a high-growth environment
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or CPA preferred
- Deep knowledge of finance, accounting, financial planning, and compliance
- Experience leading high-performing, cross-functional teams
