Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Partner with the executive team to develop organisational strategy, operating plans, and growth goals
  • Advise the CEO and leadership on financial performance and long-term financial planning
  • Report financial information to the Board and manage relationships with Finance and Audit Committees
  • Support strategic decisions with rigorous financial analysis, risk assessment, and scenario modelling

Financial Management & Planning

  • Lead finance and accounting functions, including reporting, budgeting, cash flow, working capital, and financial controls
  • Develop robust budgeting processes and forecasting models
  • Oversee day-to-day financial reporting and monthly/quarterly performance metrics
  • Ensure cost efficiency by monitoring operating costs as a percentage of total deployment

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with FCRA, financial regulations, and accounting standards
  • Maintain effective, compliant operations by continuously identifying and mitigating risks
  • Monitor and report on fund utilisation, budget allocation, and under/over utilisation
  • Drive accuracy in donor and audit reporting and financial transparency

Team Leadership & Operational Excellence

  • Lead and mentor a team of 5+ finance professionals and consultants
  • Drive innovation by introducing technology-based solutions for reporting and automation
  • Continuously evaluate the finance team's structure for efficiency and scalability
  • Support the professional growth of team members through coaching and development
  • Align team OKRs with the broader organisational strategy

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in finance-related roles
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in a high-growth environment
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or CPA preferred
  • Deep knowledge of finance, accounting, financial planning, and compliance
  • Experience leading high-performing, cross-functional teams
