Chief Architect - Cyber Defence & Sovereign Security

Role Overview:

The Chief Architect - Cyber Defence & Sovereign Security will lead DSU's national mission to design and deploy AI-driven sovereign cyber defence systems for India. This role focuses on building next-generation security architectures capable of defending large-scale digital infrastructure against advanced persistent threats, adversarial AI attacks, and emerging quantum risks.

The Centre will function as a national-grade cyber defence lab, combining AI, big data, cryptography, and real-time systems to develop secure platforms for government, fintech, defense, and critical infrastructure sectors. The Chief Architect will guide deep research in adversarial AI, zero-trust systems, cyber resilience, and secure-by-design architectures while translating research into deployable frameworks and policy-aligned solutions.

This role also serves as a bridge between academia, national security agencies, and industry, shaping cyber security strategy, talent development, and trusted digital ecosystems at scale.

Short Summary:

Leads sovereign Cyber Defence & Sovereign Security, advancing threat detection, adversarial AI, quantum-safe security, and national digital trust.

Salary will commensurate with experience in the industry

Key Responsibilities:

Lead research in AI-based cyber threat detection, prevention, and response.

Utilize 15% of B200 compute capacity for real-time network analysis, attack simulation, and defense modeling.

Develop next-generation cyber defence frameworks for government, fintech, and defense sectors.

Establish national and international collaborations with security agencies and industry.

Guide doctoral research in adversarial AI, zero-trust architectures, and cyber resilience.

Contribute to national cyber security strategy and policy advisory initiatives.

Desired Profile:

Former senior official from CERT-In, DRDO (SAG), or equivalent national security organizations.

CISO-level industry leader from fintech, defense, or critical infrastructure domains with a PhD.

Deep expertise in adversarial AI, cyber warfare, and large-scale

secure systems.
