This is a part-time remote role for a Chess Mentor. The Chess Mentor will be responsible for instructing and guiding children in the game of chess, using interactive teaching methods to engage students of varying skill levels. Responsibilities include creating lesson plans, teaching strategies, fostering critical thinking, and mentoring students to improve their game further. The mentor will also provide feedback to both students and parents to ensure their development and progress.

• Proficiency in Chess, with a strong understanding of game rules, strategies, and tactics
• Experience in teaching or mentoring, particularly working with children aged 5-18
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage and inspire young learners
• Strong organizational skills for lesson planning and tracking students progress
• Ability to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment
• Familiarity with digital tools for remote teaching is a plus
• Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for teaching chess
• Prior chess coaching certification or evidence of tournament participation is an advantage
