Job Description

  • We are seeking a talented and passionate Secondary Chemistry Teacher to join our IGCSE team. The successful candidate will inspire and educate students in the field of chemistry, fostering a deep understanding of scientific principles and critical thinking skills.
  • Develop and deliver engaging and rigorous lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards for secondary-level chemistry education.
  • Teach fundamental concepts of chemistry, including atomic structure, chemical bonding, reactions, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, kinetics, and organic chemistry, among others.
  • Conduct laboratory experiments and demonstrations to illustrate scientific concepts, promote inquiry-based learning, and develop students laboratory skills and scientific inquiry abilities.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technology to enhance student learning and engagement in the study of chemistry.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and experimentation, while emphasizing the importance of laboratory safety protocols.
  • Assess student learning and progress through formative and summative assessments, including quizzes, tests, laboratory reports, projects, and presentations, providing timely and constructive feedback to support student growth.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying academic abilities, learning styles, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary connections and integrate chemistry concepts with other subjects, fostering a holistic understanding of science and its real-world applications.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns related to chemistry education.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills, stay updated on current trends and research in chemistry education, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the science curriculum.

Requirements

Required Qualifications - Masters Degree in the relevant subject with B.Ed.

Required Skills - - Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines, with a commitment to following the school's policies and procedures.

  • Well organized and committed to creating a positive learning environment.
  • Creative, energetic, and possessing strong moral values and discipline.

Required Experience - Proven experience as a teacher. A and AS LEVEL
