About the Role
We are looking for a Chemical Engineer – PhD (Freelancer) to support advanced AI evaluation initiatives focused on chemical engineering principles, process design, and industrial applications.
In this role, you will work with AI-generated outputs related to reaction engineering, thermodynamics, transport phenomena, process optimization, and chemical plant operations, helping improve how AI models understand and solve complex chemical engineering problems.
You will collaborate with global AI and research teams to assess the accuracy, feasibility, and scientific soundness of AI-generated solutions. Your contributions will directly enhance AI systems used for scientific research, process engineering, and industrial decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Create deliverables addressing common requests within your professional domain, including process design, simulations, and optimization strategies
- Annotate and evaluate AI-generated responses related to chemical engineering concepts and applications
- Review peer-developed deliverables to enhance AI research quality and consistency
- Diagnose and solve real-world chemical engineering problems to improve AI reasoning capabilities
- Assess AI outputs for scientific accuracy, process feasibility, and engineering validity
- Identify gaps, incorrect assumptions, or unsafe recommendations in AI-generated solutions and provide structured feedback
- Contribute domain expertise to improve AI models focused on chemical processes and industrial systems
Requirements
- PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field
- Strong understanding of core areas such as thermodynamics, reaction engineering, and transport phenomena
- Experience with process design, simulation tools (e.g., Aspen Plus, MATLAB), or industrial applications
- Ability to critically evaluate engineering models, assumptions, and outputs
- Experience in solving complex, real-world chemical engineering challenges
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment
