Role Description The Chef at Jalsa Events & Entertainment will be responsible for planning, preparing, and presenting high-quality menus for weddings, themed events, corporate functions, and other occasions. Day-to-day tasks include designing event-specific menus, coordinating with event planners on food concepts, supervising kitchen staff, managing inventory and food supplies, and ensuring strict hygiene and safety standards. The Chef will collaborate with the events team to align cuisine with themes and guest preferences, oversee food plating and buffet setups, and handle special dietary requirements. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Ranchi, requiring flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and peak event seasons.
Qualifications
- Strong culinary skills, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation for large events and diverse cuisines.
- Experience with kitchen operations, such as staff supervision, inventory management, and coordination with vendors and suppliers.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and best practices in commercial and event-based kitchens.
- Ability to collaborate with event planners, decorators, and photographers to create cohesive themed dining experiences.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, especially in high-pressure, high-volume event settings.
- Previous experience as a Chef or Senior Cook in hotels, catering, banquets, or event management environments is highly desirable.
- Formal culinary training, certification, or diploma from a recognized institute is an advantage.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and to adapt menus based on client feedback and trends.
