Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Chef specializing in North Indian cuisine, based in the Kolkata metropolitan area. The Chef will prepare and present authentic and high-quality North Indian dishes while adhering to food preparation standards and safety guidelines. Responsibilities include menu planning, supervising kitchen activities, maintaining high levels of food hygiene, mentoring junior chefs, and sourcing ingredients to ensure the best quality. Collaboration with management to design menus innovatively and providing a memorable dining experience for customers is a key part of this role.
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in preparing and cooking North Indian cuisine, with at least 8 years of relevant experience
- Menu development and culinary creativity to design traditional and modern North Indian dishes
- Strong leadership and team management skills to oversee kitchen operations and mentor junior staff
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper kitchen hygiene practices
- Ability to source and select high-quality ingredients
- Excellent time management and organizational skills for efficient service delivery
- Prior experience in a professional kitchen setup is essential; experience in high-end or specialty North Indian dining establishments is a plus
- Culinary degree or equivalent training in North Indian cuisine is preferred
