Job Description: Chartered Accountant – Accounts, Costing & Financial Analysis

Reporting To: CFO / Finance Head / Management

Role Overview

Rashmi Group is looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant to manage and control key finance and accounting functions of the company. The candidate will be responsible for accounts control, payments, SAP entries, bookkeeping supervision, costing, financial analysis, statutory compliance, and management reporting.

The role requires strong accounting knowledge, commercial understanding, SAP working experience, and the ability to provide accurate financial data to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounts & Bookkeeping Control

* Supervise and control day-to-day accounting activities.

* Ensure proper booking of purchase, sales, expenses, advances, provisions, and journal entries.

* Review ledger balances, vendor/customer accounts, and general ledger accuracy.

* Ensure timely reconciliation of bank accounts, vendor accounts, customer accounts, inter-company accounts, and statutory ledgers.

* Maintain proper documentation and accounting records as per company policy.

2. Payments & Receivables Management

* Review and process vendor payments, contractor payments, employee reimbursements, and other company expenses.

* Verify supporting documents, approvals, invoices, purchase orders, and payment terms before releasing payments.

* Monitor receivables, ageing, advances, and follow-up requirements.

* Ensure proper payment control to avoid duplicate, incorrect, or unauthorised payments.

3. SAP Entries & System Control

* Ensure accurate and timely SAP entries for accounting, payments, purchases, sales, inventory, costing, and financial transactions.

* Review SAP data for correctness and completeness.

* Coordinate with internal teams to resolve SAP-related accounting issues.

* Ensure proper use of cost centres, profit centres, GL codes, vendor codes, customer codes, and material codes.

* Support SAP reporting, MIS preparation, and audit requirements.

4. Costing & Profitability Analysis

* Prepare product costing, project costing, stock costing, and variance analysis.

* Analyse raw material cost, production cost, overhead allocation, freight, duties, taxes, and other cost components.

* Compare actual cost versus budgeted cost and identify reasons for variance.

* Support management in pricing decisions, margin analysis, and profitability improvement.

* Prepare cost sheets for different products, divisions, customers, and markets.

5. Financial Analysis & MIS

* Prepare monthly financial reports, MIS, cash flow reports, profitability reports, and management dashboards.

* Analyse revenue, expenses, margins, working capital, inventory, debtors, creditors, and cash flow.

* Provide insights to management on financial performance and areas of improvement.

* Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, business planning, and target tracking.

* Prepare financial analysis for new business opportunities, expansion plans, imports, exports, and commercial decisions.

6. Compliance & Audit Support

* Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, income tax, Companies Act, and other applicable statutory requirements.

* Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and internal departments.

* Support statutory audit, internal audit, tax audit, GST audit, and other compliance reviews.

* Ensure timely filing of returns, reconciliations, and statutory payments.

* Maintain proper audit trail and documentation for all financial transactions.

7. Internal Controls

* Strengthen internal financial controls across accounting, payments, inventory, costing, and reporting.

* Identify gaps in processes and suggest improvements.

* Ensure compliance with company policies, approval matrix, and financial discipline.

* Monitor high-value transactions, abnormal expenses, pending advances, and unreconciled balances.

* Support automation and process improvement in finance and accounts.

Required Qualification

* Qualified Chartered Accountant.

* Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting preferred.

* SAP experience is strongly preferred.

* Experience in manufacturing, steel, pipes, metals, infrastructure, or similar industry will be an advantage.

Required Experience

* 5-8 years of experience in accounts, finance, costing, audit, taxation, or financial analysis.

* Experience in handling SAP entries, MIS, costing, payments, and bookkeeping control.

* Prior experience in a manufacturing company will be preferred.

Key Skills Required

* Strong accounting and financial control knowledge.

* Good understanding of costing and profitability analysis.

* SAP working knowledge.

* Strong MS Excel and MIS preparation skills.

* Knowledge of GST, TDS, income tax, audit, and statutory compliance.

* Ability to analyse financial data and present clear insights.

* Strong attention to detail.

* Good coordination skills with purchase, sales, stores, production, logistics, and management teams.

* Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple responsibilities.

Desired Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be a commercially strong Chartered Accountant who can go beyond routine accounting and help management understand cost, margins, profitability, cash flow, and financial risks. The candidate should be disciplined, detail-oriented, system-driven, and capable of maintaining strong financial control across the organisation.
