Manager / Assistant Manager – General Ledger & Financial Closing

Educational Qualification

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory

Experience

• Minimum 5 years Post Qualification Experience (PQE)
• Preference for candidates with experience in Shipping, CFS, Ports, Logistics, Container Terminals, ICDs, or related infrastructure sectors.

Mandatory Selection Criteria

1. Industry Experience

The candidate should possess hands-on experience in:

• CFS operations
• Shipping & logistics accounting
• Port/container terminal accounting
• Freight & supply chain industry finance functions

2. Qualification & Experience

• Chartered Accountant (CA)
• Minimum 5 years PQE
• Experience in independently handling accounting and financial reporting responsibilities

3. Location Preference

Considering the work location at JNPT, preference should be given to candidates residing in:

Candidates from other locations may be considered if they can comfortably commute to JNPT.

4. Oracle ERP & Contract Engagement Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in Oracle ERP (preferably Oracle EBS / Oracle Fusion Finance).
• Experience in:
• General Ledger (GL)
• Financial Closing
• Reconciliations
• Financial Reporting through Oracle
• Candidates who have worked on:
• Short-term assignments
• Project-based finance engagements
• Interim finance support roles
• ERP implementation/stabilization assignments
• Contractual consulting assignments

Key Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and period-end financial closing.
• Review and post GL entries, accruals, and provisions.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure timely closure of accounts.
• Coordinate with business teams and auditors.
• Generate financial reports and schedules from Oracle ERP.
• Support completion of pending accounting backlogs, if any.
• Provide additional bandwidth during peak closing periods.
