Job Description

JOB OBJECTIVE

To develop a strong foundation in Finance & Accounts while supporting day-to-day accounting, statutory compliance, reconciliations, monthly closing, MIS and audit activities. The role is intended for a newly qualified Chartered Accountant who will work closely with the Finance team and progressively take ownership of assigned activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Support day-to-day accounting and review accounting entries in Tally / ERP, including purchases, sales, receipts, payments, journals and other transactions.

• Assist in vendor/customer ledger reconciliations and preparation of receivable, payable, advance and other schedules.

• Support monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities and preparation/review of financial statements and closing schedules.

• Analyse accounting discrepancies, identify root causes and coordinate timely rectification.

• Assist in fixed asset, inventory and other accounting-related activities relevant to a manufacturing environment.

GST & TDS Compliance

• Assist in preparation and review of GST sales and purchase data and reconciliation with GSTR-2B.

• Monitor Input Tax Credit (ITC), identify unmatched invoices and coordinate with relevant teams/vendors for resolution.

• Support preparation and filing of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and other applicable GST returns.

• Assist in GST reconciliations, annual return requirements and responses to routine compliance queries.

• Review TDS applicability, deductions, workings and challans; support timely deposit and return filing.

• Assist in reconciliation of TDS information with Form 26AS and issuance/reconciliation of TDS certificates.

Banking, Payments & Reconciliations

• Support vendor payment schedules based on agreed terms and due dates, including monitoring of MSME payment due dates.

• Review bank entries and perform regular Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS).

• Reconcile customer/vendor balances and follow up with internal departments for pending documents and unreconciled items.

MIS, Excel & Analysis

• Prepare MIS, ageing schedules, reconciliations and management reports as assigned.

• Use Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, SUMIF/SUMIFS, IF/IFERROR, Conditional Formatting and Data Validation.

• Analyse financial and accounting data and highlight unusual trends, variances or reconciliation differences to the reporting manager.

Audit, Controls & Coordination

• Coordinate with statutory/internal auditors and provide schedules, reconciliations and supporting documents.

• Maintain proper documentation of invoices, vouchers, challans, reconciliations and statutory records.

• Support implementation and monitoring of internal accounting controls and finance processes.

• Coordinate with Procurement, Sales, HR and other departments for Finance & Accounts requirements.

• Perform other Finance & Accounts activities assigned by the reporting manager and progressively take ownership of assigned processes.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) – Fresher / newly qualified CA.

• Candidates who have recently completed CA Final and are awaiting membership/qualification formalities may also be considered, subject to company requirements.

• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, taxation and basic corporate finance concepts.

• Practical exposure to GST, TDS, audit and financial reporting through articleship is preferred.

• Working knowledge of Tally Prime / ERP accounting systems preferred.

• Strong command of Microsoft Excel and ability to analyse financial data.

• Exposure to manufacturing / corporate accounting through articleship or internship will be an advantage.

PREFERRED EXPOSURE

• Articleship experience in a manufacturing or corporate environment.

• Hands-on exposure to GST reconciliation, TDS, statutory audit, internal audit, monthly closing and MIS.

• Exposure to Tally Prime / ERP systems and high-volume accounting or Excel-based reconciliations.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)

• Accuracy and timeliness of assigned accounting and closing activities.

• Timely completion and quality of GST/TDS support and reconciliation activities.

• Accuracy of GST/2B, vendor/customer and bank reconciliations.

• Accuracy and timely submission of MIS / Excel reports.

• Quality and completeness of audit schedules and supporting documentation.

• Timely resolution/escalation of accounting discrepancies and pending items.

• Progressive ownership of assigned Finance & Accounts processes.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The ideal candidate is a newly qualified Chartered Accountant with strong fundamentals in accounting, taxation, audit and financial reporting. The candidate should be analytical, detail oriented and comfortable working with Excel and ERP/accounting systems. A willingness to learn, professional integrity, ownership of assigned responsibilities and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams are essential.
