Role Description This is a full-time Chartered Accountant articleship role based on-site at NCS & Co's office in Karkala taluk. The articleship trainee will support audit and assurance engagements, including vouching, ledger scrutiny, preparation of working papers, and documentation in line with professional standards. Responsibilities include assisting in direct and indirect tax compliance, return preparation, basic tax computations, and support for assessments and filings. The role involves contributing to accounting and bookkeeping, reconciliations, MIS preparation, and helping implement internal controls and finance processes for clients. The trainee will also work with senior team members on advisory assignments, due diligence support, real estate and RERA-related compliance tasks, and preparation of reports and presentations. Day-to-day work will combine client interaction, research on accounting and tax matters, and active participation in learning initiatives to build strong professional competence.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should be enrolled in the Chartered Accountancy course and eligible to commence articleship as per ICAI regulations.
  • Strong foundation in accounting principles, financial reporting, and basic auditing concepts.
  • Ability to work with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with accounting and tax software is an advantage.
  • Good analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and professional client-handling etiquette.
  • Capacity to work in a structured, deadline-driven environment and collaborate effectively within teams.
  • Interest in taxation, advisory, and finance transformation; willingness to learn technology-driven tools and methodologies.
  • Ethical mindset, integrity, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.
