Role Description The CHA Operation (JNPT) - G Card Holder role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai, focused on managing Customs House Agent operations at JNPT. The role involves coordinating customs documentation, ensuring timely filing and clearance, and maintaining compliance with all customs and regulatory requirements. The G Card Holder will liaise with customs officials, port authorities, shipping lines, transporters, and clients to ensure smooth cargo movement and resolution of operational issues. Daily tasks include tracking consignments, updating stakeholders, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the preparation of bills of entry, shipping bills, and related documentation. The role also includes supporting internal teams with operational status updates, addressing queries, and contributing to process improvements in CHA operations.
Qualifications
  • Strong Analytical Skills to interpret customs regulations, documentation requirements, and operational data.
  • Effective Communication skills to coordinate with customs officials, clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Sales awareness to support service offerings, understand client needs, and contribute to customer retention.
  • Operations Management experience to oversee daily CHA activities, cargo movement, and issue resolution at JNPT.
  • Project Management skills to handle multiple shipments, timelines, and stakeholders in a structured manner.
  • Valid G Card with hands-on experience in customs clearance procedures at major ports, preferably JNPT.
  • Knowledge of Indian customs laws, EXIM procedures, and relevant documentation (bills of entry, shipping bills, etc.).
  • Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced port environment with attention to detail and adherence to compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic logistics/CHA software; prior experience in freight forwarding or logistics is an advantage.
  • Minimum higher secondary or graduate-level education; additional certifications in logistics or international trade are beneficial.
