Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Workday Time Tracking Consultant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 3-8 years of hands-on experience implementing, configuring, and supporting Workday Time Tracking solutions for enterprise clients. This role requires deep functional and technical expertise in Workday's time and absence management capabilities, along with strong client relationship and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

Implementation & Configuration

  • Lead or participate in end-to-end Workday Time Tracking implementations, including requirements gathering, design, configuration, testing, and deployment
  • Configure time tracking setup including time entry methods, time off plans, time codes, time calculation rules, and time blocks
  • Design and implement complex time tracking business processes, including approvals, validations, and integrations
  • Configure scheduled processes for time calculations, accruals, and carryover functionality
  • Build and maintain time tracking reports and dashboards to support operational and compliance needs

Client Engagement

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Workday Time Tracking, advising clients on best practices and industry standards
  • Facilitate requirements workshops and design sessions with stakeholders across HR, Finance, Payroll, and IT
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions that leverage Workday's native capabilities
  • Provide knowledge transfer and training to client teams and end users
  • Manage client expectations and communicate project status, risks, and issues effectively

Integration & Data Management

  • Design and support integrations between Workday Time Tracking and external systems (payroll, ERP, third-party time clocks)
  • Collaborate with integration teams on EIB loads, Core Connectors, and Web Services
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy in time tracking records through validation rules and audits
  • Support bi-annual Workday updates by testing time tracking functionality and implementing new features

Support & Optimization

  • Provide post-production support for time tracking issues, troubleshooting configuration problems and user errors
  • Analyze time tracking processes and recommend optimizations to improve efficiency and user experience
  • Maintain documentation including functional specifications, configuration guides, and training materials
  • Stay current on Workday product roadmap and new time tracking features through community engagement and training

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 3-8 years of hands-on experience with Workday Time Tracking configuration and implementation
  • Proven track record of delivering at least 2-3 full-cycle Workday Time Tracking implementations
  • Experience configuring time entry methods, time codes, schedules, and time calculation rules
  • Strong understanding of time tracking business processes across multiple industries and regulatory environments

Technical Skills

  • Deep knowledge of Workday Time Tracking module including configuration, reporting, and business process framework
  • Proficiency with Workday reporting tools (Report Writer, Composite Reports, Advanced Reports)
  • Understanding of Workday integration tools (EIB, Core Connectors, Studio)
  • Familiarity with Workday security model and role-based permissions

Functional Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of HR, payroll, and time & attendance business processes
  • Knowledge of labor law compliance requirements (FLSA, state-specific regulations)
  • Understanding of absence management and how it integrates with time tracking
  • Experience with various time capture methods (manual entry, mobile, biometric, badges)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Workday Time Tracking Pro Certification
  • Additional Workday module experience (HCM, Absence Management, Payroll)
  • Experience with Workday Projects or Professional Services Automation (PSA)
  • Knowledge of workforce management tools and integration patterns
  • Experience in consulting or professional services environment
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, IT, or related field
