PROFILE
- Qualified Chartered Accountant / MBA Finance / equivalent finance professional with 10–15 years of progressive experience in Accounting & Controlling, shared services, or Center of Excellence environments.
- Strong experience in setting up and stabilizing accounting operations teams, including transition planning, knowledge transfer, governance design, and service delivery management.
- Deep process understanding of Accounts Payable domestic, foreign payables, logistics cost accounting, cash and bank, and Accounts Receivable sub-ledger accounting processes.
- Hands-on exposure to SAP-based finance operations, month-end close activities, reconciliations, clearing, payment governance, and sub-ledger controls.
- Proven ability to build SOPs, process maps, control frameworks, operating metrics, and governance routines for scalable and compliant accounting operations.
- Strong leadership capability to hire, onboard, coach, and develop a high-performing team with clear ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to collaborate across Business Units, Procurement, Logistics, Treasury, Tax, Controlling, IT, auditors, and global finance teams.
- Experience in transformation, automation, performance management, audit readiness, and driving operational excellence in a multinational environment.
RESPONSIBILITY
- Lead the setup of the India Center of Excellence for core accounting operations, including operating model design, team structure, roles and responsibilities, and governance framework.
- Drive end-to-end transition of accounting processes into the CoE, including transition planning, knowledge transfer, documentation, shadow/support phases, readiness assessment, and stabilization.
- Own and govern accounting operations related to domestic Accounts Payable, foreign payables, logistics cost accounting, cash and bank, and Accounts Receivable sub-ledger processes.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant execution of daily operations, month-end close, reconciliations, clearing activities, payment controls, open item monitoring, and sub-ledger review.
- Establish and monitor service delivery KPIs, process health dashboards, aging reports, exception logs, escalation mechanisms, and periodic management reporting.
- Strengthen internal controls, segregation of duties, approval governance, compliance requirements, audit trails, and risk mitigation across all assigned accounting processes.
- Build and maintain SOPs, work instructions, process maps, RACI matrices, control checklists, and knowledge repositories to ensure continuity and scalability of operations.
- Partner with Procurement, Logistics, Treasury, Tax, Business Units, Controlling, IT, banks, affiliates, and global finance stakeholders to resolve operational issues and drive process alignment.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the CoE team by setting clear performance expectations, driving capability building, succession planning, and a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
- Identify and implement automation, standardization, and productivity improvement opportunities in collaboration with IT, GBS, and process excellence teams.
- Support statutory, internal, and group audits by ensuring timely availability of schedules, reconciliations, evidence, explanations, and closure of audit observations.
- Act as a trusted operations leader for Accounting & Controlling India by ensuring stable service delivery, compliance, stakeholder satisfaction, and continuous maturity of the CoE.
