About us

At Openhouse, we are building a network of premium play based learning centres across Bangalore. Our learning centres offer preschool, childcare and co-curricular activities for ages 1-10 years. We believe that modern parents are seeking professionally run schools that are child-centric, have quality infrastructure and follow global pedagogies.

Our learning centres are different from traditional K-12 schools or preschools. We are building learning hubs (micro-schools) at a neighbourhood level where parents can send children for play school, nursery, kindergarten and a range of co-curricular activities from dance to drama, chess to robotics!

The problem

We realise that in big urban metros, parents preferences are changing:

1. Families are more nuclear and there are a lot of childcare responsibilities especially in the early years which they need to figure out on their own.
2. Parents are dissatisfied with existing preschools due to an overemphasis on academics with subpar educators and infrastructure.

Looking at the above, Openhouse is trying to bridge the gap for modern thoughtful parents and be their support partner in the first 10 years of parenting. We have been on this mission since 2018 and already have 12 live learning centres across Bangalore and Kolkata where we help 4000+ families and mentor 200+ educators.

Who are we

Founded by Stanford alumni and headquartered in Bangalore, Openhouse is an Ed Tech Startup. What is the role

As a Centre Director at Openhouse, you will play a pivotal role in managing one learning centre entrusted to you. It's a role that allows you to build that centre in your neighborhood and create social and economical impact.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Working with our enthusiastic teachers by building an inclusive, growth oriented culture.
• Implementing our Curriculum in the centre for both preschool and afterschool programs
• Managing day to day functioning of the centre
• Owning the Professional Development of the entire team by bridging any knowledge or skill gaps.
• Maintaining open and effective communication with parents, sharing insights into their child's progress and milestones.

Who is the ideal candidate

We are looking for someone who-

• Has at least 4-5 years of being a Preschool Teacher in a Premium Early Childhood Education school.
• Has good team management experience and has led teams before
• Has good communication and team building skills
• Is willing to be entrepreneurial and do whatever it takes to grow a learning centre in their community.
• Is outgoing and able to hold good quality conversations with parents, teachers and students alike
• Loves being around children and is passionate about quality education
• A course in Early Childhood Education or a B.Ed or NTT, MTT would also be great to have and is a bonus.

Things you should know before applying

• Location: Bangalore
• Timings: 9am to 5pm
• 5 day working week (However, 1 day of the weekend will be working, non negotiable)
