Role Description This is a full-time, on-site CDP Continental role based in Puducherry, India. The CDP Continental will be responsible for preparing and presenting a variety of continental dishes, ensuring consistent quality, portion control, and adherence to hotel standards. The role involves managing a specific section of the kitchen, assisting in menu planning, and coordinating with junior staff for mise en place and service. The individual will monitor food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in the work area, following all hotel and regulatory guidelines. Daily tasks also include inventory checks, minimizing wastage, collaborating closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen team members, and supporting smooth kitchen operations during peak service periods.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical skills in continental cuisine, including preparation, cooking methods, plating, and portion control.
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen sanitation practices, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workstation.
  • Experience supervising or guiding commis and junior kitchen staff, with the ability to coordinate tasks and support a collaborative team environment.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to handle multiple orders, maintain mise en place, and work efficiently during busy service times.
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with kitchen colleagues, service staff, and management, and to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
  • Previous experience as a CDP or Demi CDP in a hotel or restaurant specializing in continental cuisine is highly preferred.
  • Formal culinary education or certification from a recognized institute is an advantage.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as per operational requirements.
